Okay, so you’re trendy on a budget and wear clothes from the sales rack at Target (I do at times), but do you also apply the same rule to handbags? A good quality handbag can elevate the look of even the simplest outfit. I’m a handbag girl and always lusting on a new one, and for some reason it’s always a luxury one. I don’t have many handbags but the few I have are good ones (pricey but worth every penny) and I get tons of compliments on them. I can spot a good handbag a mile away and that means “NO LOGOS” on them, for some reason I feel it cheapens the bag. One exception to this rule is the Louis Vuitton Speedy, which is a classic and would not look the same if it didn’t have the classic LV logos. I haven’t met a woman yet that doesn’t carry a handbag, which means it’s a very important part of who we are. We stash everything we can think of inside our bags from money to even medications, so why settle for poor quality. A good classic handbag is an investment piece that stands the test of time. If you care for your handbag it should always look good and presentable with no loose stitches, frayed handles or loose buckles. I’m not talking a Birkin or Chanel, and there are many options out there that won’t break the bank. You can start with a Coach or Cole Hann handbag, which you can sometimes get under $300.00 and the quality is great, so is their customer service. A couple of years ago I purchased a $500.00+ Coach bag and about a year and half later the patent leather was coming undone on the handle, so I paid the $20.00 to have it fixed by them and they shipped it for me at the store. A few weeks after, I received a call from the store that my handbag couldn’t be fixed, but they would issue me a FULL CREDIT for a replacement bag of my choice. Although, I really wanted my original bag fixed because it was gorgeous, I was willing to accept the offer as I won’t use a weathered bag. That’s what I call good customer service and way to generate loyal customers. If you save $2.00 a day for the next 8 months (that’s one cup of coffee) you can get yourself a really nice piece. And I think a nice bag looks better in your arm than a coffee cup in your hand. I have compiled a list of some good investment pieces, that are classy and functional, so start saving.

i love pretty much anything cole haan.... the shoes and bags are particularly exquisite.

while i know for a fact that there are, indeed, many women that do not carry handbags, they can be an important part of our daily life, both functionally and aesthetically.

certainly, for something that is versatile and a quotidian piece, saving up to buy something not crappy, made of real leather, totally worth it.
